I'm Tom, the guy behind all this. I built EQ Trainer because I needed it myself. When I started getting serious about studio recording, this technique transformed my ability to hear what was actually happening in a mix. I was so passionate about my transformation I knew I wanted to make a tool for everyone to use.

It was so liberating to finally trust what I was hearing. Instead of obsessing about expensive gear I found I was able to concentrate on the process and find sounds I loved intuitively. It has helped me not only with using EQ, but also during sound design, running through how each effect changed different frequency areas, and even at band practice understanding how my guitar sits in the blend of other musicians I'm playing with.
